Most photographers believe that monopods are vastly inferior to tripods. Partly because it is true for specialized situations like night photography, but mostly because they don't know how to use a monopod.. Over the sixty five years that I have been a serious photographer, I have owned two dozen tripods and monopods. The Velbon V 50 is simply the best of the lot.
