I bought this scope to put on a practice only bolt action rifle. I was hoping for good value to punch paper. These are my initial impression after a couple trips to the range. The lit reticle is way too bright to useful in most situations requiring one. The lowest setting is on par with other scopes highest. The eye relief on my model is a bit over 4 inches (the box says extended eye relief). The website (both Adorama and Vortex) state aprox 3.3 inches. I prefer long eye relief, but this might be an issue for some mounting systems. There was no alen wrench included. Adjustments are positive and accurate. Optics, in my opinion, are a bit lesser than my Mark4 40mm objective Leupolds in every measurable way - sharpness, flatness, color, contrast. Which is actually a complement as these cost around a grand more.Bottom line, for about [$] you get a 4-16 power 30mm main tube with 90+ minutes of adjustment, a mill dot reticle, and (reputedly) the best warranty around. For the price, I am not aware of anything that can touch it.

Only one thing separates you from the fray of wannabe trophy hunters. A trophy. But that's okay. We can help with that. That's right, you can make big things happen when you take aim behind the Vortex Crossfire riflescope. Built to exceed the performance standards of similarly priced riflescopes, the Crossfire riflescope is standing by ready and more than willing to assist you with filling that tag.
With bright, 90 percent light transmission and a fast-focus eyepiece for quick target acquisition, the Crossfire riflescope makes quick work of dialing in for the shot that counts.
This reticle allows the user to do range estimations as well as estimating holdover, wind drift and lead moving targets. It is very important to understand that in order to use these features, the scope must be set at 14x magnification. Of course, the standard center crosshair can always be used at any magnification.
