Good price. Quality looks good. No issues. Screws on easily. Some don't like a protection filter on their lenses but after dripping a 17-55 f/2.8 over Railroad gravel (large pieces) that was only saved by the sacrifice of a circular polarizer on the ned, i keep something on the front always.
All photographers should have a UV filter installed on their lenses. While they don't really do anything except at high elevation, UV filters provide a critical piece of mind. Their ability to spare a lens' glass from directly impacting the ground in the frightening case that the lens is fighting a war with gravity is one not to be underestimated. A few dollars' investment has saved more than a few of my professional-photographer friends' kit. I bought this expecting it to lend me similar confidence in actually using my gear, and thus far it's done just that. Additionally, the filter itself is optically superior to UV filters I've purchased elsewhere (namely, from cheap sources on one of the world's favorite online auction sites). Just buy this. You won't regret it.
