I have only had the chance to use it 3 times. I went from a 1 minute to an 8 minute exposure with no star trails with a 200mm lens. Set up is simple once you get the hang of it. Be warned that the instruction manual is not very good. it took me about 2 hours of web research to figure it out. But once I understood how to do it , it only takes a few minutes total to set up and align. You align the Polarie then remove it. It is held in place with magnets, so it is easy to remove. I do recommend a sturdy tripod for the Polarie but that is not an absolute. Some sort of geared tripod head would also help with alignment but is in NO WAY necessary and is expensive. For longer exposure astrophotography, the polar align scope is a must. Hope this helps.

Works very well.
Really simplifies polar alignment. A bit awkward to install and sparse instructions on how to use, but fairly intuitive. Helps when guiding more than a few minutes. Glad I got it.
