I'm a professional photographer, I work in multiple locations in the Tri-State area and for the last few years, while I do have a thunderbolt drive for immediate storage of active jobs, I, otherwise, have pretty much used these WD drives exclusively. Their light portability is a major factor but they are very reasonably priced and they have proven extremely reliable over several years. In fact, I no longer use desktop drives as they are too expensive, take up too much room and require extra power cords that I have no patience for. In addition, if I've ever had a problem with crashing drives, it has been the larger desktop types.
knocked internet off because it was too close to computer. took days to figure that out and needs a longer cable.
I use my WD My Passport 2TB External Hard Drive, USB 3 to store my photos and music. It is easy to install (just plug it in to the USB port) and easy to use.
I use this product as an external drive to keep current projects on for my website. Easy to use, just a USB3 plug. Good for travel also. However, this drive arrived (for the 2nd time) in a plastic envelope. I had to return the first one because it had been stomped on by someone. Asked for proper packaging the 2nd time--didn't happen--but was not stomped on this time so I kept it. Not very efficient method, if you ask me.
