A speed ring is a pretty simple item. Attach it to your light modifier (softbox, octobox, etc), then attach it to your strobe. This ring is lightweight aluminum, I think. It is well constructed, which is typical of Westcott. I'm actually using these speed rings to attach my Photoflex softboxes to my Westcott strobes.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Can a flashpoint soft box be attached to this speeding?
LISA J  I do not know. This is something you should check with either Wescott or Flashpoint. They seem to be fairly universal, as I have two different companies for my softbox and monolight. The monolight is where I just barely get it to fit.
Shopper  Do You have a softbox adapter for the old P/N 2000 Novatron lights?
Helen O  That would depend on the type of head you have. Westcott does offer a speed ring for Novatron heads. That unit can be found here: http://www.adorama.com/WESNTS.html Photoflex also offers a speed ring for Novatron heads, though it's designed for use with Photoflex softbanks and softboxes. That unit may be found here: http://www.adorama.com/PF9004D.html
