About Yamaha A-S300

The Yamaha A-S300 Integrated Amplifier (Black) would make a great amp for a starter hifi system or a secondary room. The amplifier boasts a power output of 2 x 60W RMS which will confidently drive bookshelf and floor standing speakers in a normal domestic environment to high levels.

Short signal paths ensure noise is minimized, if you do not need to use the tone controls they can be defeated with a Pure Direct button for best sound quality. Two sets of speakers may be connected and switched, ideal for a second pair of speakers in another room.

The mechanical anti-resonance centre bar in the enclosure strengthens and prevents the sound in the room vibrating the critical internal components, ensuring the cleanest reproduction for an amplifier in its class.

An iPod dock connector on the rear allows all of the Yamaha iPod docks to work flawlessly with your iPod and also gives an independent power supply to the rest of the amplifier, for maximum noise immunity. With the on-board phono input (moving magnet compatible), you can even connect your turntable and enjoy that unmistakable warmth and lush sound from your cherished LP's.

Yamaha A-S300 Features

  • Offers the look and feel of the top-class A-S2000, with elegant aluminum front panel and silky touch volume/selector knobs. You can feel Yamaha's commitment to quality when you touch the knobs
  • Music signals travel the shortest possible route, bypassing the buffer amp and tone, loudness and balance controls to virtually eliminate any signal degradation for the purest sound quality
  • The quality of each individual part, as well as how they work together, basically determines the sound quality of any component. Yamaha uses only very high quality parts, carefully selected and tested
  • These high grade speaker terminals have silver plating for best connection and outstanding durability. The pitch between jacks is wider for easier insertion
  • Dual aluminium-extruded heat sinks ensure effective heat dissipation and help achieve crisp, clean sound
  • The ears lose sensitivity to high and low frequencies at low volume levels. This control lets you turn down the volume while maintaining the optimum frequency response
  • The iPod dock has an independent power supply to prevent operating or charging current from the iPod from flowing into the amp ground signal. This ensures optimum iPod sound quality
  • An unbalanced interface is subject to common mode voltage noise, so Yamaha uses a balanced system to receive the iPod signal. This makes a significant contribution to reducing noise in the system for higher sound quality
  • Subwoofer Out lets you connect a subwoofer for stronger bass and better overall sound quality
  • Auto Power Off automatically turns off the power after a certain amount of time to save energy
  • The A-S300 come supplied with a slim remote unit whose button layout is both easy to understand and use
