About Yamaha MCR-232

The Yamaha MCR-232 is an executive style mini-system featuring iPhone, iPod and iPad compatibility among other advanced features with elegant black finish speakers. The iPhone/iPod Dedicated dock provides a Digital connection, which means that the digital signal from the iPhone/iPod is transmitted directly to the receiver. This minimizes noise interference and allows use of the MCR-232 DAC, rather than the /iPhone/iPod DAC, resulting in more precise Sound reproduction. A USB terminal on the top of the unit makes it quick and easy to plug in an iPad or other USB device. The digital connection permits fast, loss free signal transmission. Yamaha took care to design the receiver and speakers to perfectly complement each other.

The speakers have a beautiful, high quality finish that looks elegant in any setting. The speaker grilles are also designed for good looks, but can be removed for a more basic appearance. The 2-way Bass reflex speakers employ 4-3/8" Woofer units and are supported by three legs that prevent external vibrations from affecting the sound. The result is strong bass and rich Mid-Range and treble, so you enjoy high sound quality with good imaging. The receiver uses a high efficiency Yamaha digital amp that ensures accurate, low Distortion sound, which is delivered by new-design speakers.

Great Sound!

I just received the Yamaha MCR 232 system. It was pretty easy to set up and feels well constructed. The sound is great! It's nice having an AM/FM radio, plus the included antenna is able to pick up all the stations in my area.

I would highly recommend this unit

All around great system for the money, I have my system in my garage, I added a Yamaha 100 watt powered sub-woofer to round out the sound and give it serious bottom or bass for depth.

Very stylish

I like Yamaha product. This mini sound system is very beautiful and stylish. Sound is nicely couloured and powerful. The use of the subwoofer output enhance strongly the sound quality. A line level output would be a nice feature to add. I would personnaly use it to hook a transmitter for outdoor wireless speaker. Base and treble control are nice but not easy to acess using remote.

nice full sound in a compact package

By

The AM&FM reception is amazing! I've never been able to listen to my local morning news ,till now! I am also playing music through my Iphone with ease & better quality & clarity then CDs ,that are also great. The remote will do everything in a simple & easy design, I also like the back to basic, bass & treeble controls instead of listing it as jazz, rock etc.I only have 2 months of use,but so far very pleased!
