Review Summary
The Zacuto C-Shooter for Canon EOS C100/C300/C500 Cameras is a quick, easy shoulder-mount rig . This rig features a Studio Baseplate for Canon cameras with 12" (30.48cm) rods that run through the length of the baseplate. The rods can slide back and forth to accommodate different lenses and accessories by turning the red levers at the side of the plate. Furthermore, the comfortable shoulder pad slides on the rods for comfort and ease of use. As the Studio Baseplate is flat, the center of gravity remains low. This baseplate features a pair of 15mm rods that are 12" (30.48cm) long. On each side of the baseplate there is also a set of 15mm holes. The side holes take 15mm female rods that are locked via an Allen screw. This gives users a huge amount of mounting options. With these side holes, you have the option of turning the baseplate into a cage configuration. Or, you could mount a Zwiss Plate (sold separately) with professional batteries off of the side of the baseplate, via 2 female/female rods, when shooting on a tripod for better balance. When not using a cage configuration, the side holes can be used for an EVF, Zacuto articulating arms, rods and more. The baseplate also has standard 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 holes on the bottom for mounting the rig onto a tripod.
Attached to the front of the rods is the ENG Grip Relocator for the Canon C100/300/500 cameras. The ENG Grip Relocator features a 15mm lightweight rod mount designed to put the grip directly to the side of the rods. The Canon removable camera grip attaches directly to the Grip Relocator and the 24" long cable connects to the port on your camera. Once its plugged in, users have trigger or on/off control, lens aperture control and a programmable function button that can be used to set to a number of parameters including waveform, 1 to 1 zoom, zebras, my menu and more.
