Resolves AF assist beam problems with new flash unit

Canon has posted firmware updates for its Rebel XS, XSi, and EOS 50D digital SLR cameras. Rebel XS update version 1.0.5 and XSi update Version 1.1.0 add support for the about-to-be-released Canon Speedlite 270 EX Flash's autofocus assist beam feature in low light. This fixes a problem in earlier versions where the AF assist beam doesn't fire. Donwnload Canon Rebel XS Firmware Version 1.0.5 or Rebel XSi Firmware Version 1.1.0.Canon EOS 50D Firmware Update version 1.0.6 also adds support for the Speedlite 270 EX flash's A Fassist beam, and also changes the error indications that are displayed on the camera. It also resolves a vertical banding noise phenomenon. Download Canon EOS 50D Firmware Update version 1.0.6.
