Leica Rangefinder lenses can fit new short flangeback cameras

Hirofumi Kobayashi, the innovative president of Cosina, has done it again. Under the Voigtlander brand name, Cosina has announced the VM Micro Four Thirds adapter, which lets you attach M-mount lenses and L-mounty lenses on Micro Four Thirds cameras such as the Panasonic G-1. With rumors of an upcoming Olympus compact Micro Four Thirds camera coming later this year, the possibilities for a street-savvy compact that takes high-quality interchangeable prime lenses are intriguing.

While Cosina would not list compatible Leica M-mount lenses, it does list Voigtlander and Carl Zeiss lenses that would work (without data transfer) on Micro Four Thirds cameras via the VM or VL mount:
