This shield saves you from eyestrain and lets you see the picture more clearly when trying to view live or preview images on your digital camera LCD monitor in bright sunlight.
As anyone who has tried to view a photo on their digital camera LCD monitor in direct sunlight knows, on most models it’s almost impossible to see an image on an LCD monitor clearly when the rays of the sun are hitting it. It’s the same problem that view camera photographers had back in the day, and the solution is as similar as it is obvious: Block the direct sunlight. The Kaiser digiShield Monitor Glare Shield, available for digital compact cameras with 1.8-inch, 2.5-inch and 3-inch LCD monitors, does just that.
The shield is attached to the camera’s tripod socket with a screw with a thin head or adapter screw that has an additional tripod head. Regardless of the position of the tripod socket on the camera, the glare shield can be adjusted via a guide shield so it is properly positioned over the monitor, and fits snugly against the camera body.
The flip-up shield top and sides prevent direct sunlight from hitting the monitor from the top or side. Folded up when not in use, the digitShield protects the monitor from accidental damage.
If you have a digital camera with only an LCD monitor, this is an essential piece of equipment in helping you to compose images as well as viewing them afterwards. If you rely on LiveView on a DSLR, this tool is invaluable.
