Macro Flash Article

I agree that it would have been nice to see a photo of the same subject by each flash and lens. That said, both units give outstanding results. I bought the ring flash.

macro flash

Thought was great. I have the L-series and didn't know u had to have adapter and I didn't even know there is two types of ring flashes. Enjoyed the program very much was very helpful but would have liked to see a photo from each flash.

NEED MORE LENS INFO

I watched this video hoping to learn something useful about the Canon macro lenses. Instead, the vast majority of the time was spent on flashes for macro photography. The only information given about why one lens was almost twice the price of the other was that it had image stabilization and that the "glass is different." Okay...I understand ULD or APO glass, but what if someone did not? It would be nice to have a concise explanation. Also, it would be useful to know if either or both lenses are flat field and if they are appropriate for copy work in addition to photographing 3D objects. Further, do both lenses focus to the same distance from the film plane? For me, there is too much fluff and not enough real information to spend my time viewing these. I hope other lessons are better, for this is my first experience, and it was marginal.
