Now here’s one huge umbrella for not a huge price. Why would you need an 86-inch reflector-type umbrella? Read on!

It’s a law of physics: The larger the light source in comparison to the subject, softer the light. If you need to flood your subject with soft, flattering light, the bigger the light source, the better. The Flashpoint 86-inch Parabolic White Umbrella offers one of the largest foldable light reflectors around.

Designed for fashion shoots and other applications that require even lighting to cover larger subjects, the Flashpoint 86-inch Parabolic White Umbrella is designed to efficiently use light—a good thing, since the sheer size of the reflective space could cause some loss in light but, in fact, due to the parabolic shape of the umbrella, there is very little light falloff towards the edges.

In addition to reflecting light, since the fabric is translucent, photographers can shoot through for a smooth diffusion effect. Designed to be use for flash sources (including shoe-mounted flashes), the Umbrella can also be used with HMI and other sources of constant light. So, it can be used for video production.
