Incorrect information

Setting the 7D to slow speed and then calling it slower? Saying the shooting speed slows down because the "card" is full? I think the tutorial writer/producer/presenter needs to watch some tutorials. Hint - set the 7D to high speed and you'll get 8 fps instead of 3. And the buffer is what fills - a fast card will have next to no influence on how long it takes to fill the buffer.

Deceitful

I normally really like the Adorama tutorials, but I do not like the way they made out like the Canon's are slow in this tutorial. For starters they did not shoot the 7D at full speed, where IT"S FASTER THAN THE Nikon D7000. And then for a second body from each company they used a Rebel and a Nikon D3s. Why not compare the D3s with a Canon 1D Mark III or IV, which are both FASTER THAN THE Nikon D3s? I purchased a Canon 7D and some other equipment from Adorama, but if they are going to continue this kind of slanted tutorials I will take my business elsewhere.

Great Rundown

Helpful info & exceptionally well presented. Thx for tip on not using AI Focus. For those who might be considering a Canon 7D and concluded that it's slow, please note that Mark shot in its Low Speed Continuous mode of 3 frames per second. In High Speed Continuous, the 7D shoots 8 frames per second.

As always, very informative

Mark, very good. I like your presentation skills. I had, however, hoped you'd included an explanation of LiveView focusing that works fundamentally different and slower, as I understand it. Besides being the only focus mode in Live View if your camera does not have a transparent mirror, what are the pro and cons of Live View focusing? I understand that it may be very helpful when using manual focus in, for instance, macro photography.
