Kodak this week received recognition for three of its innovative products, while the sale of a ground-breaking division helps their bottom line.

Three Kodak Products—the Hero 9.1 All-in-One Printer, Playfull Waterproof Video Camera and Playsport Zx5 Video Camera—have recieved awards for innovation from the Consumer Electronics Association. An independent panel of industrial designers, engineers and media members chose the three products for their innovative use of technology.

The Kodak Hero 9.1 AOI  features Google Cloud Print and Kodak Email Print, which lets users of portable devices connect and press the "print" button remotely.

The Playfull Waterproof and Playsport Zx5 are pocket video cameras that have been ruggedized for active water sport and outdoor activities, respectively.

Sensor Biz Sold

On the business side, Kodak has sold its ground-breaking digital imaging sensor division to Platinum Equity, a private investment firm, for an undisclosed sum this week. The division manufactures sensors for the Leica M9, Pentax 645D, and other high-end digital cameras as well as for specialized manufacturing inspection tools. Kodak will continue to have access to the technology after the sale, which raises cash for the Rochester-based company.
