In reversal, seeks compatibility with Apple iOS

In a major reversal, Adobe has dropped Mobile Flash development in favor of HTML5, a step that solidifies that technology's universal mobile device support.

The move by Adobe is being seen as vidication of Apple, which under Steve Jobs refused to use Flash in its iPhones, iPad and iPod operating system. Apple resisted using Flash, despite much outside pressure, because of what they characterized as its flawed performance.

Adobe has announced that it will focus instead on helping Flash developers to move over to HTML5. The company also said it will continue to provide bug fixes and security updates for existing Flash apps that are already in use.
