Aloha, Mark. According to the prices at the side of the screen, the price difference is closer to $1,500 than to $1,000. Bah, humbug. Do we get a discount if we say how much we love AdoramaTV? : )

I currently use a Canon 7D and was disappointed when I heard that Canon was not going to be updating it anytime soon. I was thinking about giving Nikon a try because of the exceptional low light capability; however, after checking out this review i had a change of heart. Canon has raised the bar with the 5d Mark III. It's clearly the best in it's class with all of the features that it has. Sorry Nikon D800. I'm going to save my pennies to get either a 5D Mark III or the D1. Sorry Nikon you almost had me.

Years ago, Nikon nickel and dimed me with a lens problem and never admitted their mistake. A similar problem with a Canon Camera got a new, factory replacement with an apology. In my experience, the companies DO NOT compare when it comes to customer satisfaction

Can't wait. Getting a Mark III takes away some of the pain of having my Mark II stolen!

Canon is only now introducing features that the 5DMkii should have had, like the improved metering system and AF. For this price (considering the Nikon D800), Canon should have thrown in in-camera radio control of their new line of flashes (plus an internal flash and IR flash control), focus-assist light, geotagging and wi-fi connectivity (all of which are old tech, by the way!!). The 5DMkii is still a better deal, as well as the Nikon D800 if you don't have a great investment in lenses.

Hyped review. Looks like Mark is getting paid by Canon to do the review. Not Honest.

Finally Canon corrected the major faults of the mkII: AF, metering, fps, viewfinder, bracketing, dynamic rage, HDR (maybe?) ... Does it justify $ 3500 if you already have the mkII? for 22 mpix No. When Canon will see the sales I sure that a mkIIIs featuring 38 mpix (2 mpix over the d800 !) will come. The question is in one or two years from now ?.

I like the way Mark describes and review all items, but seems to me this is Canon trying to bring some attention. Nikon launch both, D4 and D800, which killed Canon cameras for a year or so. Prior to the D800, Canon use to get more attention to the Megapixel count. Nikon passed Canon for this year on pixels with the D800. Still cheaper than Canon 5D MIII. And during the announcement, a lot of people are saying: "Is it worth?" Not much improvement compared to the steps made by Nikon. Seems to me, Canon is really trying to sponsor Mark to give a push to this new camera. Would be nice to get a review on the D800.
