Turn Nothing Into Something With A Rainbow of Gels
By Bryan Peterson
June 7, 2012
Throw a splash of color on "ordinary" subjects to get extraordinary photos! Bryan Peterson shows you how he does it.
For many people, photographers included, the world can seem to be filled with an overabundance of 'ordinary' subject matter. It is at these times, perhaps more than any other, where we feel really hard-pressed to make something out of nothing and as many experienced shooters will agree, LIGHT is often the key!

I have a learning disabilty, so with these lessons I can sit and watch them over and over until I get it in my head and somewhat have an idea on how to use the videos in this lesson. Thanks Bryan, you are number 1 in my book.

I love taking nature photos, but I have no imagination. I've only been able to take some interesting photos, by luck and because I encountered some beautiful scenes nature has created. Your tips are starting to pump renewed energy into me and some new deas for me to incorporate into my shoots. Keep the tips coming. Thank You.

Fire extenquisher- that comment kept my attention. Keep rockin!
Thanks again Bryan for posting more videos on AdoramaTV. You still keep amazing me with your creativity and simplicity. Great use of gels in this video. **For the Big know it all, creatives editing pros and disrespectful Photographers, learn how to keep your comments to yourself and respect other photographers work, even if they look like crap to you the focus here is teaching not showing off your great video recording skills, or your perfect pronunciation or grammar of things. This is what makes Bryan - Bryan Peterson (A fun, funny, hilarious instructor). You might learn something in the future if you respect every photographers work if you like it or not.

Wow, Bryan you always amaze me with your creativity! Keep shooting! And don't pay attention to the flamers. They just believe they are prefect.

great inspirational video on uses for gels with flash....thanks...i disagree with the other critiques....this video is about creativity with gels and flashes...not an intro into ambient exposures and gel use....i'm sure there are other videos for that......thanks again Bryan!!

I have to agree with iwasfixin2, this was very well done. I have been using off camera flash for a while now, but it takes a video like this to get all excited again. This was very clever, can't wait to give it a try. Thanks Bryan.

i can't comprehend the ignorance of the previous posts... bryan was concise and extremely informative in this post -- which, but the way -- is *free* instruction from a pro photographer!!! -- but small minds want to get caught up on production details of the vid. news bulletin ---> it wasn't about the vid, it was about the photograph. it's **always about the photograph** ok? bryan, please keep on teachin'! you are a master!
