The world of blogging has exploded in recent years. Ready to step up your game?
Everyone, it seems, has a blog these days. Microblogging platforms and social networks such as Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest and beyond have blurred the lines and while they provide easy self-publishing tools they've also created a lot of static. How can your rise above all that noise and bring your blog to the next level? Now Adorama is proud to announce The Blographer Event, which takes place two weeks from today!
Why have a day-long series of workshops geared towards photography in the blogosphere? One of the best ways to upgrade your blog is by using photography. Not just any photography, but really, really good photography. On Thursday August 2nd from 10AM-4:45PM, Adorama will be hosting The Blographer Event, a day-long event designed specifically to give bloggers the tools they need to improve their blogs through better photography. The day-long BlograpHer Event will take place at the Metropolitan Pavilion, located on West 18th Street, in the heart of New York's Chelsea district and just down the block from Adorama.
The price for the entire day? Just $69.
The day will start at 10:00 AM with the presentation Developing Your Unique Vision, hosted by New York-based photographer Vivienne Gucwa and photo blogger Lotus Carroll, who also co-hosts a weekly videocast with partner Thomas Hawk called Photo Talk Plus.
Then at 12:00, there will be a workshop called Ten Ways to Make Your Photos Blogworthy. Presenters will be Amanda Bottoms, a food and travel photo blogger and cohost of the blog kevinandamanda.com, and Erin Cobb, a photo blogger and mom who blogs about family and children photography (and other stuff) in The Pigbear.
At 2:00, lunch will be provided, and participants will have an hour to meet and network.
Finally from 3:00-4:45, attendees will be treated to The Power of Visual Storytelling. Presenters will be: Amanda Padgett, a South Carolina-based mom and blogger whose blog, Everyday Elements, shows others who to rock their camera—see her site for how she uses great photography get her message across; and Rachel Devine, another photo blogger who is the author of the Amphoto book Beyond Snapshots and was just named Australia's newest Tamron Ambassador.
A splendid time is guaranteed for all—and it only costs $69 for the whole day and $99 for two if you bring a friend. What are you waiting for? Space is limited; Sign up now!
