When I look at great photographs and portraits, I often forget that the person behind them is just . . . a person behind them. Brilliant, yes; larger than life, sure, to me anyways; creative, beyond belief; human, well, that part may often be forgotten. This interview with Joel reminds me that great photographers, are for the most part, "regular Joe's", only with a lot of talent. As Joel implies, it is developed by a strong work ethic, and practice. Giving your creativity an opportunity to develop. This was a great interview by Tamara, and Joel seems like a very real and personable guy. Willing to share his knowledge and helping future photographers reach their potential. I was inspired. Very Cool

There must be thousands of people out there doing these treatments on photos. THerefore, it isn't unique, and if it isn't unique, I doubt you can call it art. Plus the compositions and backgrounds are so predictable. Seems like a nice, smart guy and a great technician. Art isn't announced, its earned. Try harder.

Very fresh interview and his point of view of his work as artist is just what I think of myself. And of course, his work is just supreme. If I had to choose one photographer he would be the one, a raw model as a professional photographer and more important as an artist.
