Photo Plus Expo 2012
By Mason Resnick
October 25, 2012
Camera bag maker Gura Gear announced two new high-end camera bags especially designed to meet carry-on regulations but which hold a maximum amount of gear with a clever easy access system. The Bataflae series of bags—available in 32-inch and 26-inch models ($449 and $399, respectively)—features a "butterfly multi-access system": The front of the bag unzips in two segments that flip up towards the center like a butterfly's wings, allowing the user to reach into one half of the bag or the other. Alternatively, the entire front opening can be pulled down to reveal all of the bag's contents. The lightweight, nylon bags are sized to fit most airlines' overhead compartments, and are equipped with color-coded zipper pulls, seam-sealed rain fly/ground cloth, riveted handles, a lockable main compartment, fail-safe shoulder strap buckles, full-length front pockets for accessories, iPads, travel documents, etc. The center of the larger bag can accommodate large camera bodies and lenses as long as 800mm. Gura Gear Bataflae Backpacks are available now at Adorama.
