Carrying over the successful-beyond-anyone's-wildest-dreams-in-the-digital-eraInstax instant print brand from the film to digital realm, the SP-1 lets you send your image files wirelessly via a proprietary app. The new Fujifilm Instax Share Smartphone Printer SP1 was unveiled on the eve of the photography trade show located within CES in Las Vegas.
The app offers various features such as image enlargement/reduction and filters like black & white/sepia. A diverse lineup of templates is also available. The Real Time Template, on which the date/time, place, weather, temperature and humidity are printed on the photo, makes a one and only physical print. With the Limited Edition Template, each print is marked with a serial number like a limited item, making a memory with people you cherish more precious. On SNS Template, the images uploaded to social networking service (SNS) sites are printed with the profile photo and the number of likes.
Prints are made on Fujifilm instant color "Instax Mini" film, with 62x46mm prints made on 86x54mm sheets. The printer supports JPEG files as small as VGA. Fujifilm says it will make approximately 100 prints per battery charge.
If Fujifilm's prediction is correct, this will be the gift to give to a typical teen and 20-something in the not-too-distant future. Pricing and availability not announced yet.
