Fujifilm today unveiled a roadmap of four new lenses to be made available through 2015.
Fujifilm today unveiled its plans for the next year and a half, revealing that four new lenses are in the pipeline. These include a new model plus more details about previously-announced lenses. The road map represents Fujifilm's committment to its X-series mirrorless interchangeable-lens compact digital cameras that are based on an APS sensor designed by Fujifilm.
Three of the four Fujifilm lenses can be pre-ordered now from Adorama, and will be shipped on a first-come, first-served basis. Credit cards will not be charged until orders ship.
Expected later this year is Fujifilm's second water-resistant lens, the XF50-140mm f/2.8 R IOS WR, the second lens to be designed to match the water-resistant X-T1 camera.
Fujifilm will release the XF16-55mm f/2.8 WR, which is also going to be water-resistant, in the spring of 2015.
A 90mm f/2R lens, a premium large-diameter telephoto lens, is slated for late 2015, as is a super tele-zoom lens (specifics were not supplied.)
