Kodak bids farewell to KODACHROME, pro photographer and travel blogger Steven Frisherling gets an edible Nikomat for his birthday and iGoogle can be skinned with themes from legendary photographer Jim Brandenburg.
They took our KODACHROME away...

Kodak has announced the end of an era. They took our KODACHROME away. There's the video above on YouTube all about the end of this film's 74 year run, and more info over at Kodak's 1000 Words blog. And we wonder, will iTunes see a spike in sales of Paul Simon's "Kodachrome"?
FishCake?
Blogger, photographer, and travel specialist Steven Frischling of Flying with Fish got a surprise for his birthday: a dead-on replica of his first camera, a 1965 Nikomat camera cake! Replica cakes are all the rage if Food Network's Ace of Cakes show is any indication. This edible simulation of an SLR was made by a friend of Fish, Melissa A.Green! What a cool idea!

(Note to Melissa: my first SLR was a Ricoh KR-30SP with the Rikenon 35-70mm lens. It still has the JCII sticker on the prism, but the lens release button cover is missing...)
iGoogle with Jim Brandenburg, do you?
And have you checked out iGoogle yet? Did you know that there are a number of nature designs including one by legendary photographer Jim Brandenburg? You know how I'm skinning my iGoogle!
