Inline Stillmotion video from Andrew Kornylak on Vimeo.
Atlanta-based Andrew Kornylak (and here as well as here) caught my eye with a recent advertisement he made for Nfinity. This "video" and the Inline video above are stitched still frames captured at the high burst rate of the Nikon D3, which are then edited and produced in Final Cut Pro. We talk at length about the Stillmotion process in the podcast, so I'll leave it at that.
It is very interesting to hear how Andrew's passion for rock climbing launched his photographic career, and then to hear the echoes of how his first experiments and self-assignments with the Stillmotion technique led to a commercial shoot with this hybrid technique. There's a great lesson in there.
3 things Andrew Kornylak always keeps in his camera bag are gaffers tape, a gerber multipurpose tool, and a stack of model releases.
2 photographers he suggests we check out right now are Steven Klein and Jeff Hutchens.
1 dream shoot for Andrew Kornylak would be something along the lines of shooting the entire REI catalog.
