The world is in motion. Capture it!
By Adorama Learning Center Editors - January 4, 2011
Video has evolved from large video cameras tethered to huge cassette or reel-to-reel tape recorders that produced low-resolution black-and-white to pocket-sized digital wonders that can record high-definition images that look true to life on wide-screen plasma or LCD TV screens that are several feet in diameter.
And now, there's a new kid on the block: the HDSLR and HD Video capable compact digital still camera. Video used to be an afterthought in still cameras, but now, thanks to major advances in sensor technology, nearly every still camera being introduced can capture some form of high-definition video.
Learn the nuances and major differences among the various HD Video formats in Mike McNamara's Video DSLR Basics for Photographers, then check our guides for top cameras and accessories
