Mirrorless Compact Interchangeable Lens Cameras

Welcome to the camera design revolution!

By Adorama Learning Center Editors - September 20, 2011

In the last few years, two amazing things have happened to camera design: Video capture was added to DSLRs, and a new breed of interchangeable-lens cameras that deliver the same image quality as a DSLR but are much smaller was introduced. This new Adorama Learning Center department is devoted to the latter, growing group of cameras that we call MILCs (Mirrorless Interchangeable-Lens Compacts; read this blog post about why we chose this particular acronym).

At the Adorama Learning Center, we've been covering MILCs since the day they first burst on the scene. After two years, with MILCs now the fastest-growing category, we felt it was time to devote a department to them. Enjoy!

Mirrorless Interchangeable-Lens Compact (MILC) cameras are the fastest-growing digital camera category.
