Complete photo coverage of Sneak Peek
See what the press saw today

By Mason Resnick

January 30, 2008

Being in the press has its perks. One of them is getting up close and personal with the latest products and the people who want us to write about them. In the process, we tend to learn something new that we might have overlooked in the press release.

Join us as we take an exclusive look at some of the goings on...

Fuji's FinePix S100fd is able to emulate several key Fuji film characteristics at the touch of a button. Here it's in Velvia mode.

Argraph's Marty Lipton demonstrates the Adventure Vest, which will hold a full-size camera and a big lens--and the back converts into a seat! Sports shooters will love it.

Samsung demonstrates the new 14MP GX20 DSLR's live view mode.

Leica's Brian Bell takes aim at a drooling Adorama news desk editor with a Leica M8. No new products, although there were plenty of hints about something coming at Photokina. Leica did announce a hardware (yes hardware) upgrade program so the M8 will, they say, never become obsolete (as long as you pay $1200 Euros).

Rows of neatly-displayed, colorful Olympus Stylus cameras.

Already announced, this was the first public appearance of the new Olympus 14-35mm lens.

Smartparts 32-inch photo frame, arguably the largest so far, is impressive on display at Sneak Peek.

Victory is mine! Wayne Fromm holds aloft the light Quickpod DSLR monopod.
