Oh, Canada! Fujifilm web site leaks new cameras
Word leaked out this morning of two new Fujifilm digital cameras, the S200HD and J110--cameras that were not supposed to be public knowledge until August 12. The leak came from Fujifilm's Canadian web site, which posted descriptions and specifications of the cameras today. We've culled the following information from that site.
The S2000HD, a superzoom camera, will be the company's first camera to feature HD video recording capabilities. Also new to this SLR-shaped 10MP camera is Face Detection with auto red-eye removal and dual image stabilization, which we assume will combine both optical and digital stabilization methods. The camera a wide 15x 27.6-414mm (35mm equivalent) f3.5-5.4 zoom lens, focusing down to half an inch in Super Macro mode, ISO range from 100 to 6400, and easy-to-use user interface including Fuji's standard On-Screen Help feature.
The second is the J110W, a slim (22.6MM), metal-bodied 10MP compact that boasts a 28-140mm f/3.3-5.1 zoom lens. Under-the-hood features include face detection with auto red-eye removal, and image stabilization. The camera boasts 21 scene and shooting modes and close-up shooting as near as 2.5 inches. The camera can capture standard video, and has Fuji's standard On-Screen help feature.
There are other reports of additional cameras, but these have not been confirmed. We will post all of Fujifilm's official announcements, which will include U.S. pricing and availability, as soon as we recieve them.
