Join Lindsay Adler, a NY fashion photographer, as she shares many of her tips and tricks for lens choice, exposure, lighting, posing, and interacting with your subjects. And thanks to Sigma, you’ll have the opportunity to try out some of Lindsay’s favorite Sigma lenses that include the 85mm f/1.4 and the 50mm f/1.4, which she frequently uses for her portrait and fashion sessions. This is both a lecture and hands-on shooting event, where you will learn how to choose the right lens, and analyze and modify natural light with reflectors, diffusers and more, to make the most of any location lighting situation.Class size is limited, Lindsay’s events always fill up quickly, so don’t miss out—Sign up now! Requirements:Bring your camera and favorite lens, sufficient memory cards, fully charged batteries, and cleaning cloth. If you want to borrow one of the Sigma lenses noted below, please arrive promptly at 12:00PM, and bring your driver’s license and a valid credit card (copies of which will be held for security purposes until you return the lens at the end of the event). Lenses available for loan for this event are suitable for Nikon or Canon cameras only, not any other cameras. Lindsay Adler is a professional portrait and fashion photographer based in New York. For the past 10 years she has owned and operated a portrait, fashion and wedding studio distinguished by its Ôfashion flair' approach to imagery. As a New York fashion photographer, her editorials have appeared in dozens of publications internationally. She regularly contributes to a variety of major photo publications including Professional Photographer and Rangefinder Magazine. In May 2010 she published her first book, "A Linked Photographers' Guide to Online Marketing and Social Media". In February 2011, she published her second book, "Fashion Flair for Portrait and Wedding Photography", and it was chosen by Amazon, as one of the Best Books of 2011. Adler, a Sigma Pro, is sponsored by a variety of major photography companies and spends a lot of her time traveling to teach workshops and at major conference. You can find her as a platform speaker at events like WPPI, Photo Plus, NECCC, PSA, and many more. She teaches thousands of photographers annually on topics ranging from retouching, to fashion techniques, to studio lighting. Though only in her mid-twenties, her career and photography have received much acclaim and she has already become a respected name in the business. Shooting in natural light can give a richness to your images and can allow your subjects to feel more comfortable and relaxed. You don’t need a lot of equipment to make great location lighting. In fact, if you learn to really see the light, you can seek out natural reflectors and high quality light using no modifiers at all!
