Event Description:

Taping into his half century of food photography experience, Moose will share his vast knowledge making food taste good on the printed page. Na, Moose is going to spend the evening talking about his passion, wildlife photography. There will be a little gear, a little technique, a little biology and a story or two of the one that got away. And of course, there will be a song, a dance and a landscape or two thrown in for general entertainment.

We're very fortunate; we live in a photographic age when we have more options to be visual communicators then at any other time. At the very same instance, all of these choices can make one's head spin until it pops off. For Moose feels, “Often, it clouds the really important nuts and bolts of what photography is all about-- your photography is about telling visually to the rest of the world, what you find fascinating about the world you explore”.

“Selecting the right tool, technique for both camera and computer craft, is what we'll explore during our time together”, states, Moose, “This event is not for the faint of heart, and is for those who are comfortable with their camera and understand the basics of photography”. The groundwork of image creation like “What's an f/stop?” won't be covered, but rather, “What's the power of the f/stop you've selected?” will be.

Moose has one goal for this presentation, to help YOU take YOUR photography to the next level by providing tips, techniques and inspiration. He says, “Meet me half way and I know you'll take back ideas that you will want to explore with your camera!”

Always a popular speaker, Moose’s events sell out quickly, so don’t miss this presentation, seating is limited.

Biography:

Moose Peterson

Moose’s true passion is wildlife photography and he considers himself incredibly fortunate to be amongst North America’s critters and to be able to tell their stories with his camera. Along the way, Moose has been fortunate to be recognized for his passion: a Nikon Legend Behind the Lens, Lexar Elite Photographer, recipient of the John Muir Conservation Award, Research Associate with the Endangered Species Recovery Program, to name just a few. He shares his knowledge through his writing, having been published in over 131 magazines worldwide, author of 23 books, and lecturing across the country to thousands upon thousands of photographers. One of the original Nikon shooters to receive the D1 in 1999, Moose embraced this new technology, becoming the only wildlife photographer in the world to shoot strictly digital in the early years. While a beta site for all the major hardware and software manufacturers, Moose continues his main goal of photographing the life history of North America’s endangered wildlife and wildplaces. Being a creative innovator of new techniques both behind the camera and the computer is the driving force behind his photography and goals.
