Seminar Description:

Marc Silber has been a photographer and adventurer for most of his life, trekking, snowboarding, surfing and climbing the mountains of the Sierra and California coast.

His experiences have given him extensive opportunities for travel and nature photography, two aspects of his work, which covers a full range from environmental portraits to natural landscapes and abstracts. Marc is constantly exploring different approaches, styles, and projects, and he teaches acclaimed workshops that encourage photographers to go beyond their perceived limitations to express their creativity fully.

Join Marc as he presents his own work, and great tips and advice directly from some of the classical and contemporary masters of photography. He has collected gems such as:

  • Rare unreleased footage of Ansel Adams explaining the “whole key” to a great photograph
  • Top commercial photographer Chase Jarvis’s tip for “turning a shot on its head,” including how to look at shots and come away with something truly jaw-dropping
  • Jeff Flindt, Senior Photographer for Surfing Magazine, explaining the use of natural morning light for his stunning work, and how he approaches going into cultural environments to get the intrinsic shots
  • Thomas Hawk, known as “Mr Flickr” due to his popularity and prolific output, explains his secret for getting great shots every single day, and instilling passion in his work

Marc will also show you the common points discussed by each photographer, cutting right to the core of how they capture their exceptional work, and how you can put these important tips and information to use right away to get the truly memorable images you aspire to create.

Biography:

Marc Silber

Marc Silber is the host of Marc Silber’s Photo Show, which brings viewers in contact with some of the world’s best photographers, passing along their tips and inspiring them to get right out and take better shots. Now solidly in the digital age, he began taking black & white photographs in the 60s, avidly learning composition and darkroom skills. Through his images he has been able to capture the expression of the spirit, each photograph telling a story, whether of the spirit of nature or the spirit of the individual.

He honed his skills, with contemporary Annie Leibovitz, at the celebrated San Francisco Art Institute—one of the oldest and most prestigious schools of higher education in art and photography in the United States. And Marc has studied the works of masters such as Ansel Adams, the Westons and Henri Cartier-Bresson, but quickly forged his own unique visual style.
He has been a professional photographer for more than 40 years, and he loves to teach photography through his workshops and published works.

His work can be seen at: www.SilberStudios.com and www.SilberStudios.Tv
