Event Description:

Lindsay Adler, a New York based photographer recognized for her stylish portrait and fashion work, will discuss and demonstrate how taking the essential concepts of fashion photography and applying them to portrait photography shooting situations, make more interesting and visually compelling imagery.

During Lindsay's presentation, she will address and discuss lens choice, an overview of essential equipment, shooting techniques, and logistical approaches for you to execute fashion-influenced portraiture successfully.

Lindsay will also Include and discuss in her presentation many of the elements that are needed to make your photo shoots go smoothly and successfully: how to utilize locations, props, clothing, hair/makeup, lighting, posing and Photoshop, all to help you achieve a 'high fashion' look to your portrait work. And not only will you learn from Lindsay about creating beautiful images, she will show you how to make your subjects look and feel like models.

This event is the perfect opportunity for the aspiring professional or creative photographer, and will give you the information and approach in your portrait photography that will help you in differentiating yourself from the competition, and create photography that is truly eye-catching.

Biography:

Lindsay Adler

Lindsay Adler is a professional portrait and fashion photographer based in New York. For the past 10 years she has owned and operated a portrait, fashion and wedding studio distinguished by its ‘fashion flair’ approach to imagery. As a New York fashion photographer, her editorials have appeared in dozens of publications internationally. She regularly contributes to a variety of major photo publications including Professional Photographer and Rangefinder Magazine.

In May 2010 she published her first book, “A Linked Photographers' Guide to Online Marketing and Social Media”. In February 2011, she published her second book, "Fashion Flair for Portrait and Wedding Photography."

Adler, a Sigma Pro, is sponsored by a variety of major photography companies and spends a lot of her time traveling to teach workshops and at major conference. You can find her as a platform speaker at events like WPPI, Photo Plus, NECCC, PSA, and many more. She teaches thousands of photographers annually on topics ranging from retouching, to fashion techniques, to studio lighting.

Though only in her mid-twenties, her career and photography have received much acclaim and she has already become a respected name in the business.
