· This slave with a hot-shoe contact for all portable flash units has been optimized to also work with digital cameras, as ordinary slave units do not work with most digital cameras that use a very rapid series of pre-flashes, that trigger the slave prematurely. It is Sensitive up to 100' (30.4 m) away.

Working as an ordinary slave sensor, which will syncronize immediately with a master flash, the Speedotron DS-1 Digital Flash Trigger is also designed to work with digital cameras that use a pre-flash mode. This slave sensor switches from Normal Flash to Pre-Flash syncronization mode.
