Jason Schneider is Editor at Large for Popular Photography &
Imaging, the world’s largest circulation magazine devoted
to film and digital imaging. He served as Pop Photo’s Editor-in-Chief
for over 15 years. Prior to that, Schneider was Editorial Director
of Modern Photography, where he joined the editorial staff as Assistant
Editor in 1969.
A lifelong photo enthusiast, Schneider has managed retail camera
stores, operated his own professional photo studio, shot over 100
weddings, and covered a variety of photojournalistic assignments.
He is an acknowledged expert on camera collecting and has written
four books on the subject, as well as hundreds of Camera Collector
columns for Modern and Popular Photography. He has also written
scores of camera tests and technical articles on a wide variety
of photographic subjects, as well as articles on practical picture
taking, and the aesthetic and creative aspects of photography. He
has made numerous appearances on network and cable TV, and has been
interviewed on all the major morning shows.
A native New Yorker, Schneider attended New York University, where
he majored in English Literature and minored in Classics. He was
graduated Magna Cum Laude and inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
