This product really blows

I use this little blower to clean industrial wireless equipment, and it does an industrial job. When I'm done cleaning my filters I am able to blow out leaves and small debris off the floor.

More Air Output Than You Can Handle

The primary reason I purchased this item was to clear dust from film prior to darkroom printing or computer scanning thus saving on the high cost of canned air. The unit has a push button on/off switch. The volume of air generated is greater than needed for clearing film, and is more suitable for cleaning computer keyboards and other similar high volume air required tasks. If the unit had a blower motor speed control it would serve a greater variety of photo related tasks. It is also rather l...

WOW - IS THIS THING LOUD OR WHAT?

By

This product does what it says - it blasts dust off of surfaces with amazing efficiency. It is easy to use, and not very heavy. The big downfall is that it is tremendously loud. Don't plan to use this in an office environment as it is TOO LOUD. Other that that, it's a great product and is well priced.

A better way to protect our enviroment.

By

It gets rid of dust balls and dust from the computers and laptops. Especially underneath the keyboards. I am very happy with the new design from the older units. It is easier to use. It should include more different accessories to get into hard to reach areas.

Air Cleaner Replaces Air Spray Cans

By

 -  Hobbyist

This handy little air cleaner replaces all those aerosol driven cans that get colder in your hand the longer you use them. Plug it in, turn it on and presto a steady stream of warm air. Plenty of nozzles to direct the air exactly where you want it. One of the best additions to my computer and photography arsenal!

High power

Plenty of powerful airflow to remove dust where ever it is needed. The attachments must be firmly attached or the pressure will launch them like a rocket.

Powerful Air Stream

By

 -  Professional

I am one of the old traditional photographers who still shoots film including large format. The blower although bulky to use does an excellent job of getting the dust out of sheet film holders before loading. It is much more effective than canned air at a fraction of the cost.

Beats the heck out of canned air.

By

I could easily be talked into buying an additional unit if it were cordless (rechargeable battery type) and the sound level cut by about 50%.

this thing is great, I will never have to buy another can of compressed air again, or have to drag something out to the air compressor to blow it off again!

Questions about this item:

Shopper  does this filter out moisture?
ROBERT C  No, it does not filter moisture. It is basically a high velocity blower with a thick open cell foam disk as a dust filter. The intake is on the bottom, so care must be used to not place it down when running, or it will suck up everything on the surface.
SURIYONT T  No, does not trap significant enough amount of moisture..
HECTOR J C  Hi, no this electric duster is made only for cleaning all dust from your computer cooling fans, motherboard, keboard and camera too, using very high air pressure only. I found it perfect for cleaning my $7,000.00 liquid cooled pc, it should be good for you too!!!!!
HECTOR J C  Hi, no this electric duster is made only for cleaning all dust from your computer cooling fans, motherboard, keyboard and camera too, using very high air pressure only. I found it perfect for cleaning my $7,000.00 liquid cooled pc, it should be great for you too!!!!!
SPENCER G  It does have a filter but it seems to be for air cleaning rather than moisture.
Clifford T  No, the filter does not remove moisture.
ALAN L  This uses ambient air as with any similar product. Moisture in air would be blown onto whatever it is aimed at, but I haven't had any problems.
A.J G  SINCE IT IS FORCED AIR IT MAY DRY OUT THE MOISTURE..
DENNIS A  No.
GARY C  I use it to clean my camera equipment and sensor on the cameras. I've had no problem with moisture as it is dry air blowing out of the duster. Hope this helps
SEMYON S  No. It will only filter dust as it only has a foam air filter.
Shopper  Hi I'm buying this to use overseas & I a wanted to know what electric hz it has?
DONALD P  It is 120 volts, 60hz, 4.0 amps. Hope this helps you out.
LARRY M  I have the model ED 500 and it is 120 volts, 60 Hz, 4 Amp.
ROBERT C  my model ED500 120volts 60Hz 4.0Amps
BRENDAN M  Model ED 500, 120 Volts, 60 Hz, 4.0 AMPS This should answer your question, the answer being taken from the sticker on the device.
RAYMOND D  USA compliant: 120 vac, 60 hz
Clifford T  120 volts, 60 hz.
RICHARD F  60Hz, 120 volts, 4.0 amps
GARY C  120 volts, 60 HZ, 40 amps - hope that helps
THOMAS J  Does it have suction power also?
SEMYON S  The only place on the unit where there is suction is on the bottom where air is drawn in to be forced out of the blower. There is a coarse foam filter that is obviously not designed to be a vacuum filter. There is also no attachment to trap sucked up dirt in a container for disposal. The unit is just not designed to be a vacuum cleaner. The blower is quite strong, considerably too strong for electronic components. It can blow the keys off the keyboard. I use mine mainly for blowing up yard debris in small areas.
Clifford T  No, it's not designed to be a vacuum cleaner.
ROBERT C  Hello, despite the DataVac in the name, this unit is primarily a blower with no intended use as a vacuum. There is a round hole in the base with a foam insert for the intake of air. Check out the DataVac PC model if you need a small vacuum.
BRENDAN M  No, it's a blower only, but I keep mine plugged in all the time and really use it a lot. It's really powerful, more so than the canned air you buy at the store.
EDWARD F  Nope. It just blows :) I use to clean the insides of my PC, Laptops, TV sets and other electronics. It is great to clean the underside of your fridge but you need to have a vacuum ready as the dirt will be all over the room. Ideally, you want to clean your PC outside of your house.
RUDY F  The best blower I ever seen It is awesome to clean you key board, inside your pc, camera, and a whole lot of other things i love it 5 stars. No it dose not have suction Just blowing power.
AL W  NO - it is strictly a blower - and a very effective one. It has more power than cans of compressed air. Be careful if you are cleaning CMOS or CCD sensors. There are different nozzles pending your purpose, including brushes as accessories. A freind of mine who owns a small camera store uses one as well in his shop. Hold it as a distance from what you are cleaning - it can and will blow small parts like a focusing screen - out of your hand under the right conditions! I also have the Data Vac Computer cleaning system - it has the same accessories, but it is a true vacuum of moderate power - safer than trying to use a hose from a house vacuum cleaner! It's like a smal portable leaf-blower device, in that you can wear it on your back - hose attachments are long and suitable for our purposes. I bought the blower first, then I later bought the vacuum - I use both as needed. It's the best you'll get short of professional camera cleaning. Hope this was helpful!
ERHARD J. (E. J M  Not designed for suction, but one hell of an air blast. Only drawback, very noisy.
SPENCER G  An interesting idea! Alas no...it just blows, and VERY strong! Incidentally, I used it to blow dust out of my Canon 5D and it had the unfortunate effect of making some dust stick even more so I had to spend $30 at Canon USA in Irvine for a sensor cleaning, thus a word to the wise...
MANYUE C  I don't think so b/c it's strictly an air blower, not a vacuum.
RICHARD F  No, the duster does not have a suction function (which would basically be reversing the hose, much like a shop vac). Because there really is no hose, there is no discernable way to reverse the function. This is strictly a blower, much like a can of compressed air. The big differences between this appliance and a can of compressed air are: 1) it blows warm, not frigid air; 2) it is much more powerful; 3) with the various nozzle attachments the air can be spread in different configurations; 4) it doesn't need to be replenished. I have used mine for cleaning the computer keyboard, the inside of a computer tower, camera exterior (as powerful as it is I've been reluctant to use it on camera interior), for dusting off LPs (if you're old enough to remember LPs) before digitizing them, and for dusting collectibles.
SUSAN L  This is a compress air blowing machine only and at that, it does a superb job. The air pressure is powerful and consistent, the unit is easy to keep up and it has been a great investment for my husband who repairs computers as part of his PC services business. For cleaning the keeboard, he just uses a tooth brush to loosen the dust along with the machine, which blasts the dust away. hope this helps.
GARY C  The one that have does not have suction - I used it as a blower for cleaning computer and camera equipment and camera senor.
RAYMOND D  negative. only blowing force/action. i still use this device regularly, mostly in performing periodic maintenance inside the desktop PC or entertainment system to remove as much layer of dust as possible (since it increases heat). for spot removal, the canned air with straw nozzle still seems to be better at emitting brute force, shock air bursts. but the powered DataVac is still easier on the pocketbook in the long run for the majority of my equipment dusting needs.
