It does what is supposed to do- protect the lens. I had to find a Youtube video to determine how to install it. Hint use the unlock button to take off the original covering  and then install the adapter.

It works

I have two CLA-T01 adapters, because I have both the telephoto and fisheye lenses. I purchased a good quality 40.5mm polarizing filter for use on both the camera body lens and the telephoto lens. The filter is now stuck on CLA-T01 the adapter, and I cannot get it off. My fingers and even use of a needle-nose pliers cannot get the filter to unscrew from the adapter. Given the flimsy feel of the adapter, I am afraid to use greater force, as it might break. This means 1) I cannot use the filter on the telephoto lens, and 2) I lose use of the CLA-T01 for any other purpose. Not good. Other this problem, that the adapter works well with the accessory lenses and the Olympus Protective Lens Filter.

The CLA-T01 SHOULD work well with ANY 40.5mm filter, but...

This is a very great adapter, it fits easily on the camera, easy to add some extra gadgets on the camera, however, as the other peps claimed, this product is quite weak. I broke mine while trying to remove it from the camera, so I had to buy another one.

GREAT PROTECTOR!

Bought the adapter & protective filter. Work great in dry conditions. Condensation/ water in wet conditions...not suitable for anything involving swimming.

Good Product for dry conditions

I purchased this so I could put a protector lens on the camera.  Not that it really needed it, but I like to protect my equipment.   Fit perfect and have never had a problem.

Great addon

Love the camera, but adapter is NOT tough. Made of plastic and doesn’t like the cold. Mine cracked while out skiing so be careful. Wish an adapter was built onto the camera and not made of plastic.

Not TOUGH - plastic so breaks easily.

This adapter is not sturdy - it is flimsy plastic, and my first copy (which I use to attach the fisheye converter) broke after less than a year of fairly normal use. I wish this adapter came in a metal version to match the durability of the TG cameras and converter lenses.

prone to breaking

Not a whole lot to say here.  I used his adopter add a haze/protective filter.  Removing the filter creates a moderate sun shade.  My only concern was possible vignetting at wide angle.  I found none.

Works just fine.

In spite of some of the other reviews stating this adapter is well made it is in fact a very weak and poorly designed unit and is a major disappointment in an otherwise excellent camera system. The material that the adapter is made from is plastic and it is prone to cracking, one of mine broke right across the radius after only a month or so of occasional use. Secondly there the 'latching' mechanism is non-existent. Although the adapter screws reasonably securely to the lenses the small amount of rotation and extremely light-touch 'lock' onto the camera which deteriorates in a short time makes it very, very easy for the lens to just fall off the camera with the slightest knock. For a camera touting it's underwater capabilities this is obviously a huge flaw. After a short period of use and two CLA-T01 I can't trust putting the lens and adapter underwater or using the combination in any situation where there's a risk of dropping, which for me is most of the times I want to use it. This adapter needs to be redesigned and ideally retro-designed to improve the lenses security onto the legacy camera models. The adapter should be made of more robust material, by more resistant to cracking and very importantly it needs to have a better method of securing to the camera. Either a much longer turn arc or a spring-loaded lock to prevent it accidentally disengaging from the camera. If you are contemplating buying either of the two attachment lenses I encourage you to contact Olympus and request the replace this adapter, it's flaws aren't just it's own but can lead to you losing the much more expensive lenses too.

Very poorly designed.

This is a nice accessory for the TG series. It allows me to use 40.5 mm accessories. I have a lens cap to prevent scratches on the lens and a polarizing filter for now.

Useful accessory!

i bought an extra CLA-T01 adapter for my TG-4 so that i would have an exter adapter for filters and so i could use a UV filter and a lens cap on my TG-4 so glad i did well made and sturdy product. its a great addition to my Olympus quiver! i like having extra adapters and use them often. works great with all the hoya filters i want to use. i would buy another one in the future with out any hesitation

CLA-T01 Adapter

it's obviously necessary to have this and it comes with your lens. It makes changing lenses quick and easy but it's made out of plastic and breaks easily. I broke one because I left it on the lens and it got knocked over on the table. I broke another because it was cold outside and the thin plastic doesn't hold up well in the cold. My third one I take very good care of and it holds the lens in place very nicely.

Be careful fragile

The adapter fits and looks great. But, I haven't found anywhere where it says a lens cap is included with the adapter, So, I ordered a lens cap when I ordered my adapter. Now I have a "spare" lens cap. You should include a lens cap is provided in the description.

I read reviews from amazon on this and some of them said it was poor quality. I don't think it is. I could see if you constantly take the lenses off and on it could wear the threads. It is made of a hard plastic. It clips nicely on the the front of the camera. I suggest getting one for each lens if you get the tele-converter and fish eye. It is much easier to take the lens off if you take the adapter off with them still connected.
