A solid well built leveler. It is a bit heavy and if weight is a consideration, there are lighter options

A bit on the heavy side

I purchased this used hoping the adjustment screws would have worn in after reading other reviews but they were still extremely stiff and almost need pliers to adjust. I spent a few hours working on the adjustment and found the screws on the top were too tight and the springs just below were also too stiff for this application. I purchased lighter springs at the hardware store, reassembled and now they adjust easily with my finger tips. Be aware if you try this fix that the philips head screws are lock-tited in and only loosen when heated. You will strip the screw heads if the brass adjusters are not heated first.

Well made but very stiff

It's a very solid leveling head. Once you achieve a level, it will not move.  The knobs are very tight.  Not sure why it had to be so tight, and I don't really see an easy way to loosen them.  The tightness of the knobs knocks off two stars because it makes the leveling head really difficult to use.

Useful, but very stiff

Solid heavy duty perfect for my application in theory. Leveling screws way to stiff. Additional lubrication does not help.

Manufacturing adjustments needed

I shoot a lot of virtual tours with the 303-SPH head and this leveler.  The leveler is a real time saver and the perfect compliment to the head.  My only gripe is the tightness of the adjusting screws.  At times, they are fairly difficult to turn.  I thought they would loosen over time, but I've had this product for almost two years.   The problem persists.  A little WD40 helps, though.  This is not a major problem and would not keep me from buying another if I ever need one.  This thing is built like a tank, though.  So, unless I lose it, I doubt I'll ever need another.

A Real Timesaver

It works well as what it is designed for.

However, to haul this extra wight for a long walk is not as desirable.  In fact, Manfrotto's devices are always in the heavier side.  It really can be made with lighter (yet stronger) material.
