Not sturdy

It sways even with light load. Just too much movement. Would not buy or recommend. Diameter needs to be larger on the extension tubes.

Disappointing Customer Service

I had solicited advice from the salesman on what lightstand I--a beginner--should get. He asked me how big a stand I wanted, and I said, "about 6'" He turned up with a beat-up, taped-together box. I didn't notice until I got home that he sold me a cheap, 13' light stand that had probably been sitting around the stockroom for years. I returned it without opening the box.

Great Value

Great, great value for an gas charged stand !! Literally half the price of name brands and just as good, if not better. I use them as backdrop stands and they are very strong !!

Great Stand for the Money

Great stand for the money. I bought this stand for use outdoors with an Elinchrom Ranger Speed and it works great. The 13 foot height is a great bonus in certain situations.

Works better than expected!

I use 86" umbrellas for large wedding groupings. I bought two of these stands and was happy to find that they were strong enough to handle the weight. I also like the fact that they are air cushioned. Plus the fact that they are light weight and travel well! I will definitely buy more!

a well made and affordable lightstand

Once or twice a year I have to photograph large groups and need to get my PLM's up fairly high. As I do not do this very often I needed an affordable but heavy duty light stand. The Adorama 13' stand was a good compromise. They are easy to setup and take down and (with sandbags)handle my PLM's very well.

Very well built stand! I use it with my Desisti Cosmobeam 2k and it does exactly what it's meant to do. Highly recommend.

broke after first use

[...]You can reposition the top mounting stud and tighten it down but the threads are plastic and not reinforced, so I ended up stripping the threads with very little force. I was only trying to tighten enough to bear the weight of the flash. Oh well, I guess I got what I paid for.

Really nice stand for light/medium work

I purchased these for a high school photo/portrait studio - these are great for this kind of use. Very light weight yet sturdy with a large footprint for great stability - I will be buying a few more of these!

Great Product An An Excellent Price!

I bought this product as I needed taller and more versatile light stands. It has exceeded my expectations, especially at this price. I have more expensive stands that fell apart. Key benefits are: Wide foot print for stability. Being able to set the mounting stud either horizontal or vertical.
