Payment Methods

Credit Cards

Adorama accepts VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, PayPal, Bill Me Later and Google Checkout.
Your credit card is charged only at the time of the actual shipment of item(s). However, there might be a temporary hold on the funds until the time of actual shipment. If paying by Debit or Check Card, the funds are authorized as soon as the order is placed, which may affect the availability of funds in the account.

Please provide the correct billing information for the card being used. Billing information includes name, address and phone number of the card owner as recorded by the bank or card issuer. If using a shipping address that is different then the billing address, please provide a phone number for the shipping address.

Checks / COD

We do not accept Checks or COD orders Sorry.

Order Verification

Some orders might be subject to our verification procedure before we can process it. For your protection from credit card fraud or identity theft, we may ask you to verify that you're the card owner or that the order and the ship-to information are valid. If your order requires verification, you will be notified by email within one business day.

Sales Tax

Local sales tax applies to orders being delivered in New York and New Jersey. We do not accept resale or tax exempt status on online orders. If you wish to apply a tax exempt form to your order, please place your order by phone, email or fax.

International orders are subject to tax, duty and import fees. See International Orders.

Simply log in to your account and check the progress of your order while it's being processed.

Pending - order has been submitted and is being imported to our database
On Hold - order is being verified or has payment issues
Ready - order is ready to be processed
Picked - order is currently being picked in the shipping department
Invoiced - order has been finalized and ready to be packed
Shipped - order has been shipped and is in transit
Backorder - one or more of the items in your order are out of stock; we are waiting for the item(s) to become available
Canceled - the order is canceled.

Track Your Order

We email you a tracking number as soon as it's available (Note: it may take up to 24 hours to be updated online). You can track your order by logging in to your account and clicking the "Track Orders" link.

Canceling an Order

You can cancel your order provided it hasn't yet entered the shipping process. If the item has entered the shipping process, it cannot be canceled. However, you can return the item for a refund. See Return policy.
Note: TV's or any other item shipped by truck can only be canceled prior to shipment. Once shipped and in route, the order cannot be canceled. If the delivery is refused, the shipping and handling charges for both ways will be deducted from the credit, and at our discretion a restocking fee might also be deducted.

Backorder

We strive to keep most items in stock for immediate delivery (unless we specify that its available on Special Order basis only).

In the event that an item is out of stock or for any other reason it's unable to be shipped, we will notify you usually within one business day. We will keep the order open unless told to cancel it. When the item is in stock, we will ship it out to you. Your credit card will only be charged at the actual time of shipment, there might be a hold on the funds until the time of shipment.
Due to high international shipping costs and taxes and duty fees, we cannot ship any order that includes backordered items. We will hold the order until all items are in stock and available to ship. Contact us if you wish to cancel or change these items.

Delivery Times

Adorama Camera makes every effort to get your order to you as soon as possible. Orders for in-stock items placed on business days up to 8:00 PM ET (Eastern Time) are generally shipped the same day (subject to verification, click here for details). Please note weekend orders, placed on Fridays after 1:00 PM ET will be processed on Monday.
If there is a problem with your order you will receive an e-mail within one business day to advise you about the situation.

Delivery of TV's and other oversized items:

Oversize items like large Televisions might ship a day later.

Delivery of Used Merchandise:

Orders for Used items placed on business days up to 1:00 PM ET are generally shipped the same day (subject to verification, as described below). Please note weekend orders, placed on Fridays after 9:00 AM ET will be processed on Monday.

Delivery Requirements

A signature is required for most UPS shipments upon receipt. Someone must be at the address to receive the package and sign for it. Packages cannot be rerouted or picked up from UPS. If you require additional help to receive your package, please contact us.

Damaged / Missing Items upon delivery

Damaged in delivery: If you've found damage to the package or if merchandise is missing, please keep the original shipping carton and contact us immediately so we can issue a damage claim with carrier. Please don't return the merchandise without going through these steps, as it delays the replacement of the order or the issuance of a credit.

Missing items: All missing items claim must be reported within 5 business days of delivery, contact us to report a missing item from your shipment.

TV's or other items shipped by truck: Upon delivery, please inspect the item to insure it's the correct model, in operable condition and that it's not damaged. Do not sign the delivery manifest until you have inspected the item. Once you sign for the item, you are accepting the product as is.

If the merchandise is damaged, please make the notation on the delivery manifest, and have the person delivering the merchandise sign as well. Contact us within 48 business hours to report the damage.

InStore Pickup Option

Adorama offers the convenience of instore pickup at our retail store located at Adorama Store, 42 West 18th Street, New York City, NY 10011. See Map / See Directions

Simple steps:

  1. Simply choose instore pickup option located at the top of the checkout page.
  2. Customer will receive an email indicating that "Your order is ready for instore pickup"
  3. Customers can pick up their order during store hours (see below).
  4. To pick up your order, please bring all of the following items:
    1. A state-issued photo ID or driver's license
    2. The purchasing credit card

Please note the following restrictions:

  • Only the person who placed the order and is listed on the purchasing credit card may pick it up.
  • Instore orders cannot contain pre-order or backorder items. Please order pre-order items separately.
  • Only credit card payments can be used for instore pickup (ex: instore orders cannot be processed via paypal, google checkout nor bill me later).

To receive expedited service, present a copy of this e-mail to the employee at the entrance who will direct you to the pickup counter. Please allow extra time for large items. To avoid cancellation, please pick up your item(s) within 48 hours.

International

International tax and duty: International shipments are subject to import fees, duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches their country, in addition to the brokerage fees/custom clearance charges which may be imposed by the carrier. These charges must be borne by the recipient. Adorama has no control over these charges and cannot predict what they might be.

Due to high International shipping costs and taxes and duty fees, we cannot ship any order that includes backordered items. We will hold the order until all items are in stock and available to ship. Please contact us if you wish to cancel or change these items. 

If an international shipment is refused and/or returned, any taxes, duties, custom fees, brokerage fees or shipping charges incurred from this return, will be the responsibility of the customer.

Shipping to Canada

Adorama offers Hassle free shipping to Canada. By using our service and prepaying all Canadian VAT and duties we are able to expedite your order through customs. The final price you pay at checkout will include all cross border brokerage fees and taxes. You will not be responsible for any additional charges. Adorama makes every attempt to obtain the most current tax classifications and rates to determine the correct VAT and duties. Duties and taxes are calculated based on HST, PST, GST, NAFTA and the individual product classification.

Not all products on our site allow you to choose this option. If the product you purchase doesn’t offer this prepaid option you will be responsible for all customs fees and import taxes.

All international shipments require a signature upon delivery. An additional return shipping charge will be assessed for orders that are refused.

Returns & Exchange

Returning an Item

At Adorama, we strive to make our customers' return process hassle free. As all returns  must meet our guidelines, please review our full Return policy carefully.

  • No RMA number is needed to return an item. Please download and fill out the return Merchandise Form and include it in the return along with a copy of the original invoice.
  • Returns must be made within the time limit specified in our Return policy.
  • Returned products must be in brand new condition and have all original manufacturers packaging, materials and accessories.
  • Securely package the product you wish to return within an outer box, do not write or place shipping labels or stickers on the manufacturer's packaging.

Return Policy

Return Policy:
For the first 30 days of your purchase (7 Days for in store purchase) you may return the merchandise for a full money back refund, excluding any shipping charges, No RMA number is required to return an item, simply download and fill out the Return Merchandise form
All returns must meet our guidelines.

Returned or exchanged products must be in brand-new, mint condition, and have all original manufacturers packaging, materials and accessories, including instruction booklets, packing inserts, and blank warranty cards.

Merchandise missing the original Universal Product Code (UPC) cannot be returned. The original manufacturer's labeled packaging should be enclosed within an outer shipping box. Please do not write or place shipping labels or stickers on the manufacturer's packaging.

Securely package the product and include the filled out Return Merchandise Form and a copy of the original invoice.

Ship the parcel back to us freight prepaid. We do not accept COD or freight collect shipments. We recommend a shipping method that provides tracking and insurance.

Items that qualified for free shipping that are being returned will have our standard shipping charges deducted from refund or credit. The return shipping cost (the cost to send an item back to us) is not refundable.

Please allow up to 8 business days after we receive the package for your return/exchange/refund to be processed. An email confirmation will be sent to you once the return is processed.

Important Note for international customers: Please mark the item as "VENDOR RETURN" to avoid duties and customs.

Items that cannot be returned

Items from the following categories may not be returned once opened:

  • Software
  • Film
  • Paper
  • DVDs and video tapes
  • Bulbs and flash tubes
  • Batteries
  • Ink cartridges
  • Memory cards
  • Any item which has been removed from its "blister-pack"

Items from the following categories may not be returned:

  • Printers cannot be returned once toner, ink or ribbon cartridges have been installed.
  • TVs and monitors 20" and higher (Any warranty claim must be taken up with the manufacturer directly).
    Note: Upon delivery, please inspect the TV and insure that it is not physically damaged and in operable condition. DO NOT SIGN the delivery manifest until you have inspected the TV. Once you sign for the item, you are signing acceptance of the product as is. If the merchandise is damaged, please make the notation on the delivery manifest, and have the person delivering the merchandise sign as a witness to the damages and contact us immediately to report the damage.
  • Underwater photography equipment cannot be returned once they have been used in water.
  • Cell phones and smart phones phones will only be accepted for credit or exchange if they register less than 10 minutes cumulative talk time and show no sign of use, defective phones will be exchanged for the same model only.
  • Notebooks, Netbooks, Tablets, iPads and computers cannot be returned or exchanged once opened or unwrapped.

If the above conditions are not met, Adorama has the right to refuse the return or charge a restocking fee.

Warranty

All products are covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

  • Grey Market equipment is covered by Adorama for one year from date of purchase.
  • Used equipment carries a 90-day warranty.
  • Pal video equipment carries a 90-day warranty.
  • Flashpoint and Adorama branded products carry a one year limited warranty (unless otherwise specified).

Adorama's warranty provides coverage for defects in manufacturing only, and expressly excludes coverage for excessive wear and tear and/or physical/accidental abuse, loss and theft. The warranty is valid only at Adorama Camera. Improper repair or warranty service performed by someone other than Adorama Camera will void this warranty.

Adorama Camera disclaims any liability for consequential or incidental damages, for breach of written or implied warranty of an item, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Our warranty provides specific legal rights, however, you may have additional rights, which vary from state to state.

As some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, the above limitation may not apply. Our warranty is valid only in the U.S. For additional information on how to obtain warranty service, please contact us.

Refurbished items

Who refurbishes the units?

They are all refurbished by the manufacturer (unless specified otherwise) to the original company's specifications.

Why does availability seem unpredictable?

Unlike new inventory, we can’t order refurbs in – we have to wait for the manufacturers to contact us when they have a batch to sell.

What are the advantages of refurbished goods?

All refurbished items will have been checked over by the manufacturer by hand, inspected very thoroughly, diagnosed, and calibrated by experienced technicians, and could therefore turn out to be more dependable than a new item - which will only have been checked by a process of systematic quality control protocol (ie by random sampling as it comes off the conveyor belt).

What about firmware updates?

Refurbished goods are shipped with the firmware updates and latest fixes which were completed at whatever stage it was at when we took delivery.

What type of warranty does Adorama offer on "Refurbished" goods?

All refurbished equipment sold by Adorama include a 90-day return-to-manufacturer warranty (unless specified otherwise). Canon Refurbished include a 90 day return-t0-Adorama Warranty

Do I need a warranty certificate for repairs on refurbished goods?

No, your Adorama invoice is all you need to get warranty service on refurbished products (or just your order number, for Canon refurbs).

Grey Market

What is the Grey Market?

"Grey Market," also known as "direct import," are products imported directly into the U.S., and not through the manufacturer's authorized agent/distributor.       

Are "Grey Market" products legally imported?

Yes, it is perfectly legal to directly import these products and sell them in the U.S.

What are the advantages of "Grey Market" goods?

There is no factory-authorized middleman involved in the import of these products, so the costs are lower. As a result, the customer pays less. In addition, many items that are in short supply or are not imported at all by the manufacturer's authorized distributors, are available in the "Grey Market."

Are there any disadvantages of "Grey Market" goods?          

Because there is no factory-authorized middleman, there is no manufacturer's warranty. However, "Grey Market" products purchased from Adorama are warrantied by Adorama Camera and are returned to Adorama Camera for any warranty repair.

Are there product differences in "Grey Market" goods?

There is no difference in the actual products. In most cases, they are manufactured in the same place by the same people and with the same materials. Occasionally, manufacturers will give them a different name. For example, the Olympus USA Digital Stylus Cameras are called Olympus MJU Cameras in Europe.

What type of warranty does Adorama offer on "Grey Market" goods?          

On "Grey Market" products purchased from Adorama, we offer the same warranty as the U.S. warrantied products carry, for a period of one year. The only difference is that the product would need to be shipped to Adorama for warranty service.           

Do I need a warranty certificate for repairs on "Grey Market" goods?

No, your Adorama invoice is all you need to get warranty service on "Grey Market" products.        

What happens after the warranty expires?       

Just like products with an expired manufacturers' warranty, you can take the product to any convenient repair shop and pay for the repair.       

Open Box

Since an item can be marked as "Open Box" for many different reasons (i.e., returned without original packaging, writing on the original packaging, or manuals, packaging and items opened and tested) they may not include all accessories, manuals or original packaging. We recommend that you inspect and test the product immediately upon receipt. Open Box items are covered under original manufacturer's warranty.

Credit Card Fraud Warranty

Adorama guarantees that every online transaction you make will be 100% safe. You pay nothing if unauthorized charges are made to your card as a result of shopping at our online store. Under the Fair Credit Billing Act, your bank generally cannot hold you liable for more than $50.00 of fraudulent charges. If your bank does hold you liable for any of this $50.00, we will cover the entire liability for you, up to the full $50.00. We will only cover this liability if the unauthorized use of your credit card resulted, through no fault of your own, from purchases made while using the secure server. In the event of unauthorized use of your credit card, you must notify your credit card provider in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures.

Navigational Information

Adorama.com logs the user's Internet Protocol Address (IP). An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your PC every time you browse the Internet. Information from IP addresses is used for system administration to examine overall traffic trends, troubleshooting, etc. This information is used only in the aggregate form. IP addresses are not linked to any personally identifiable information — the user session is tracked, but user is anonymous.

Cookies & Data Sharing

A cookie is a small piece of information that Web sites use to remember information about users. The use of cookies is standard on the Internet and many major Web sites use them. Types of Information Collected

There are two types of information that Adorama collects online: (1) personally identifiable information supplied by visitors to our Web site, and (2) non-personal information gathered as visitors navigate through the Web site.

Personally Identifiable Information

Personally identifiable information is information that can be directly associated with a specific person or entity, such as name, address, or email address. Adorama collects personally identifiable information from site visitors in the following instances:

Non-personal Information

Purchaser, by placing an order, makes an offer to purchase pursuant to these terms and conditions, which offer, if accepted by Adorama Camera, is accepted within the State of New York, and purchaser consents to the jurisdiction of the courts of the courts of the State of New York for the limited purpose of dispute arising between the parties resulting from this transaction and agrees that the laws of the State of New York shall apply.

By opening or using a product purchased from Adorama, the purchaser agrees to be bound by the term and conditions of sale as set forth below. If you do not agree to the terms and conditions of sale, please ship the product back to Adorama unopened within 5 days of receipt for a full refund (less shipping and handling charges).
