I like this tripod a lot. I have a large Manfrotto carbon fiber and needed a more transportable light tripod for vacation. This fits the bill nicely. I'll admit, I did put the tripod on the scale to see if it was the weight it claimed. It was only after I took out the middle column. Regardless, the tripod works great (column or not) and is nice and compact. The case is great and there is also a strap for the case. At the top of the case inside there is a zipper to a compartment that holds the allen wrenches and another attachment. It's a nice way to store things. On mine, the zipper struggles to move smoothly in the circle but it's not a big deal
