I got this cable to use with an Audio-Technica AT899 mic, connected to a Canon HV40 HDV camcorder. So far, it works very well. I haven't noticed any noise introduced by the cable.

I bought this to use for documentaries, with a Canon HV40 HDV camcorder. I was immediately surprised at how small this mic was. It comes with a variety of clips and holders, and a couple of tiny windscreens. However, there are no instructions, and I'm still trying to figure out how to attach the mic to the holder. I don't want to force it into the clamp (because it's so small it seems like it must be pretty fragile). But I did a test recording and the sound is very clear.
