I've just received the product today (Feb, 18th, 2008)
This product can be used to recharge recent iPods. It can't be used to synchronize recent iPods with the computer. :-(
So if you want to connect your iPod to your computer, without launching iTunes, in order to recharge it, then it can be a little bit useful...
