The Player usually stalls two-four times during playback of almost every movie I watched on it (avi and mkv files). You have to reboot it after that in order to continue watching movie. I understand it is known issue, because if you open a Troubleshooting section of the User Manual, there is a description of this problem and solution (which is turn the power off and back on). Besides, it does not play some of mkv files, not sure why.

The quality of picture is very good, even for regular DVDs. It seems to me it is much better than my OPPO Digital up-converting player.

I USE THE PLAYER FOR MY BLU-RAY AND DVD MOVIES, PHOTOS AND FOR PLAYING MUSIC. THE PLAYER HAS GREAT FEATURES, TOO. NO MATTER WHAT ASPECT RATIO A MOVIE HAS BEEN RECORDED IN, I CAN CHANGE IT TO A FULL-SCREEN DISPLAY. ALSO, THE 250GB HHD WILL BE WONDERFUL FOR STORING ALL MY CDS. I'VE HAD THE PLAYER CONNECTED NOW FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS, AND IT'S WORKING GREAT. I HOPE IT CONTINUES TO DO SO.

Easy set-up, very good picture quality and sound, rapid picture and music copying on the home network, and rapid CD archiving. Streaming Netflix is excellent. No complaints on blu-ray load time.User's manual is written in Martian, at least in part. Or maybe Venutian, not sure. The remote control has a sort of mushy feel. Front "door" on the unit seems pointless. And, call me old-fashioned, but I like having a clock on display.Overall, extremely pleased! [...]

Not a fan of cable TV, but enjoy a night of watching movies so nice to have direct connection to Netflix and our queue. Love the wireless feature as well. Loads quickly, great quality, have not used the 250 GB of storage space it comes. But maybe someday.
Having just started to enjoy blue-ray and seeing the difference from normal DVD is amazing!

Received this Christmas day. Set-up took all of about 35 minutes; this included hook-up to TV, PC, FIOS DVR, Wii, Xbox, and Roku player. Has been used hard for several hundered hours so far with no problems whatsoever. Highly recommend this player to anyone who needs both wired and wireless capabilities.

This unit has many nice features. But watch for compatibility with your TV. Using component video cables, it does not work well with my Mitsu 1080i projection TV. I can only watch DVD. When I tried to use NetCast or Photo, the screen gets garbled and I have to turn the unit off/on to get it out of this mode. The technical support in LG is clue-less. I will have to return the unit.

I bought this about a month ago and paid about [$] USD. For the money, it's not a bad deal. The on-line media features are of limited use. If I was going to buy a Blu-Ray player today, I'd probably buy a plain Blu-Ray player with no frills and save some money. Maybe the built in services will become more attractive over time with future software updates.

I use this blu-ray player to stream Netflix and watch all the first rate new movies instead renting movies. It is very convenient and alot cheaper than going to movie rental places to rent movies and also saving money to drive to and from rental places.I will also use the 250 GB hard-drive to store my personal pictures and family movies and also my music collection.

I've only had the unit for about a week so this is a first impressions review. I have yet to actually play a Blu Ray disc or use the CD ripping feature.

Setup was simple. Transferring mp4 movies is easy, playback is smooth and looks great. Wirelessly accessing Netflix is also easy and the movies play w/o interruption or stuttering. I do have wireless n with very fast cable modem data rate, though. My only complaint is the user interface. Although it functions well enough, it is not very aesthetically pleasing.

Seems to be a great machine and a bargain even w/o the 250GB hard drive!
