The audio is not in tight sync with the video -- very annoying when viewing movies on DVD! Apparently this is a known problem with this model LG. Makes me wonder about other LGs as well. I wouldn't have bought it if I had known.

Have you considered using this TV as a computer monitor ? I recommend this TV very highly for that purpose.
I started using a TV to hook my computer up to years ago with one of the very first TV's that was capable of doing this.
Lately I've had my computer hooked up to a 72 inch Toshiba rear projection DLP, a 61 inch Samsung rp DLP, and 40 inch Samsung LCD, 32 inch Sharp LCD and I currently use the LG.
The Samsung was terrible as a computer monitor. Terrible. The Sharp was good and the LG offers a HUGE assortment of adjustment to sharpness, brightness, contrast, etc. - FAR more adjustment than the Samsung.
Think about getting a cordless keyboard and cordless trackball and sit on the couch and surf the internet for days in comfort with this TV.
You won't be disappointed.
