Very, very pleased with this TV.[...] Stunning graphics, great for games with my PS3. Very heavy but hoping to wall mount soon.Have this in my Florida very light house....no glare. Sound is very good out of the box, so have not yet splurged on a sound system, not tinny at all.

2 million contrast ratio, 600hz, 60 inch for 1499.00 or less (frys had a sale 1295.00 NI tax or CA recycling). To find a comparable LCD you will pay at least double, and 240hz is the best lcd/leds can do. If you want an comparable LED be prepared to pay even more, and neither the LCD or LED blacks are as good as plasmas. Burn in issue are a thing of the past so gaming is fine (just don't pause your game or movie for several hours!) Plasma life spans are better then LEDs. 1st gen plamas had their issues but those have all but been eliminated. So this LG is the best bang for your buck hands down! Intergrated speakers aren't the best but a 7.1 or 5.1 reciever takes care of that minor issue.

Crank up the sound to almost the max level, it is still low. In order to get good stereo sound, better find yourself a decent receiver and speakers.
And speaking of a decent receiver, if yours is a model that does not have Optical/Digital IN, you better upgrade - for this TV only comes with 1, and ONLY 1 x Digital/Optical Audio Line OUT port - no analog, no HDMI, no nothing else.... what a poor design.
