1080p is great if you have BluRay. But for regular HDTV and DVD's all you need is 760p - and it's a lot cheaper. Plasma rocks for motion/action. 480hz processor vs 60-120 hz for LCD.

Do yourself a favor: save some dough and get a great tv. Buy this box.

The sound quality on this tv is terrible, muffled. Must use surround sound.

Refer to manual for base installation instructions; the one sheet mini-guide is inaccurate.
Factory default settings are very good, but I opted for game rather than normal for a more vivid picture. Try the various master settings to see which you like.
DVD and VCR feeds look good on this 720p hidef set, though of course, 1080i signals from TV stations over the air are better. I wouldn't expect Blu-ray to be any better, since it, too, would be downgraded to 720p.
This 720p set is very, very good, and I don't see any reason to pay more for a 1080p set.
