Really Really great picture quality on this along with a HD Plasma!...Whoa!...The load speed is painfully slow, but once this is up and running it looks fabulous!...Highly recommend you try Blue Ray as soon as you can afford one as long as your TV will support the enhanced picture quality!

Purchased this product a month ago. The image quality is excellent. Even with non Blu Ray movies the picture is outstanding. I have it hooked up to a 46" Samsung LCD TV. Picture and sound are superb. You'll need a newer Home Theater Receiver that has HDMI connections to get optimum sound, but you can adjust the audio setting on this Blu Ray player to get DTS sound out of your receiver if it doesn't have HDMI connections. I couldn't be happier.

I set up the player using HDMI cable (best pic & best sound). I found the picture to be dark and there's no adjustment in the menu setting to lighten it.
The setup menu is fairly basic. With few exceptions, what you see is what you get. The player does seem to be reliable, no freeze ups,etc.
My advice is wait for the Panasonic DMP 50 coming out at the end of June.
