These binoculars are very sharp in 80% of the field of view. Not fully multicoated, but perfect phase coating. Flare control is very good. Eyecups pull straight out, and dipoter is set by turning the eyecup that is quite stiff. Center focusing knob is smooth and too rapid. You need to make very small movements to get sharp focus. Made in Japan. It's not as nice as the Regal LX 8X42. Case looks better than it works. It's too large and has a cheep plastic snap on the lid. Optics are slightly better than average, but not worth the price Celestron's asking. I bought mine on clearance.
